What is Toxic Black Mold?

​

The term “toxic black mold” has received a lot of attention in the media and on the internet for the past several years. This term most commonly refers to the mold Stachybotrys. This mold produces substances that are toxic to other molds and bacteria. These substances can produce moderate to severe allergic reactions in individuals depending on their sensitivity and concentration of toxins in the home.

 

NOTE: Most mold in attics is not Stachybotrys. However, testing the area is the only way to know for sure.
